ORBITAL CAFÉ / THE USEFUL DETAILS

Alibi Shift privacy

How the game handles progress, purchases, sharing, and backups.

This draft describes the development source reviewed on September 10, 2026. Alibi Shift is not yet released. This description must be checked against the final distributed app. It is not an effective published policy.

Progress stays on your device

Alibi Shift stores cases, placements, cross-outs, history, preferences, first completion dates, daily streaks, and hint counts in local app storage. Your journal is derived from those saved cases. Progress does not sync between devices.

The reviewed implementation has no game accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, third-party runtime dependencies, or developer-operated game server. It does not automatically send play data to Orbital Café. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking or collected data types; that declaration still needs verification against the shipping binary.

Purchases through Apple

Apple processes The Complete Casebook purchase through your Apple Account. The app uses StoreKit to retrieve product information and verify purchase entitlements. Buying and restoring may require an internet connection. The app does not receive or store your payment card details.

Apple handles transaction and account information under its own privacy practices. Offline gameplay does not mean purchases involve no data processing. Restoring an entitlement does not restore your game progress.

Sharing is your choice

Share your solve opens Apple’s system share sheet with an illustrated case record. The card can include the case title, date, challenge, and daily streak. It omits the answer, clue text, notes, and hint use. Nothing is sent by that action until you choose a destination.

A service or person you choose to share with receives that content. Its handling and retention are outside the game’s local storage. Remove shared copies at their destination.

Deletion and device backups

Deleting the app removes its saved data from the device. Device backups may retain app data according to your device and backup-provider settings. The app does not implement its own cloud sync or backup-import feature.

If unreadable progress is preserved before starting over, a copy remains locally in app storage. It cannot be reopened through the app. Copies in device backups are managed through those backup settings.

Support correspondence

Emailing support@orbitalcafe.app will disclose your email address and whatever information or attachments you choose to send. Email providers process those messages too. Do not include passwords, payment card details, or information you don’t need to share.

Google Workspace processes support correspondence. Privacy requests can be sent to privacy@orbitalcafe.app, which reaches the same mailbox. Support and privacy email are checked on business days. Resolved conversations are deleted after 12 months unless needed for an ongoing issue or a legal obligation. You can use the privacy address to request access to or deletion of your correspondence. Deleting correspondence from the mailbox does not immediately erase all provider copies or backups. Google’s Cloud Data Processing Addendum describes deletion and international processing.

Changes and questions

This document must be reviewed when app data flows, SDKs, purchases, sharing, or providers change. An effective date will be added after that review. See support and the separate website privacy policy.
